BECY Summer School 2016 - once again a huge success

The Summer School 2016 is over

From 05th – 23rd of September 2016 the BECY Summer School 2016 took place at the University of Hohenheim. 17 participants from 6 countries gained deep insights into different research fields of Bioeconomy during a 3-weeks-program. The students from Brazil, Germany, Denmark, Great Britain, Canada and Mexico spent the first two weeks on campus and worked on different topics of bio-based economic research in numerous lectures, group work and practical exercises.

The first week was dedicated to the topic “Innovation & Entrepreneurship” and was co-organized by guest lecturers from the BECY partner universities. The second week was all about “Food Science”, where the participants could experience the diverse field of Bioeconomy with all their senses.

The third week of the Summer School participants spent at the research station “Ihinger Hof” of the University of Hohenheim, where they worked on different aspects of “Bioenergy”.

Several excursions completed the program and offered brief insights into practice.

As in the previous years, the feedback was all positive. Participants and lecturers likewise took advantage of professional as well as intercultural exchange.
